New release, "Emperor of Daffodils"

I am pleased to announce the release of Emperor of Daffodils, a sonic essay on narcissism and the idolatry of beauty. This is the first release under the name of Joe Frawley Ensemble, a “virtual” ensemble- the artists collaborated electronically via email- including Rachel Rambach, vocalist and music therapist from Springfield, Illinois, and guitarist Greg Conte whose musical project Damn Family is based in Connecticut.

Emperor of Daffodils is a handmade, limited edition compact disc release of 50 copies, featuring a beautifully written essay by professor Agostino De Rosa, University of Venice, Department of Architectural Design.

You may read more about the project and purchase CDs at the project homepage here: http://www.joefrawleymusic.info/ensemble.htm

About Me

My photo
Joe Frawley (b. July 4, 1971) is a composer, pianist and visual artist whose works blur the boundary between music and sound art. By layering and juxtaposing original piano music with processed found sounds, field recordings, and recontextualized speech fragments, the composer creates challenging yet accessible sound assemblages bearing a hypnotic dreamlike quality.
